About Us
The Research Institute of Movement Disorders Trust (RIMD) exists to:
- advance the treatment and care of children and adults with movement disorders and physical disabilities of any description
- provide and assist in the provision of exercise and rehabilitation facilities and equipment
- fund research and education in movement science and movement optimization
We have no overheads, no paid members of staff and run no expensive advertising campaigns. All the money we receive goes towards the provision of treatment, equipment and research. Every penny counts and every pound makes a difference to somebody with a movement disorder or physical disability.

The CLEAR Unit
RIMD Trust supports the Clinical Exercise and Rehabilitation (CLEAR) Unit at Oxford Brookes University.
The CLEAR Unit specializes in the research, design and delivery of specialist rehabilitation programmes to children and adults suffering movement and functional disorders. RIMD Trust have provided over £20,000 to fund the care of people with physical disabilities and movement disorders through the CLEAR Unit. We have also provided specialist, whole-body rehabilitation equipment with wheelchair access designed for cardio-pulmonary and physical therapy.
We fund the annual Summer and Winter Games for children with developmental and coordination difficulties. Currently we support the provision of weekly sessions to children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities.
